6th July 2009 Irish Company Sells Cloud Computing Applications to 40 Companies across Three Continents

Saaspoint, the Irish owned cloud computing services and applications company, has announced that it has sold its cloud computing applications or products to over 40 companies globally this year. The products are being used across three continents in countries including the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, UK, Germany and Ireland. Cloud computing is the term applied to Software-as-a-Service applications or services delivered over the Internet.

 

 

 

"Cloud computing and SaaS was born in the United States by pioneers such as salesforce.com and Google. We are proud of the fact that an Irish owned firm has developed and is selling cloud computing applications back into the US market and globally," commented Colm Mulcahy, CEO, Saaspoint.

He added that the cloud computing model was a great opportunity for the Irish software industry and should be adopted by more Irish developers. "This market is expected to accelerate from €5.9 billion in 2008 to €10 billion this year. It breaks down the traditional barriers to Irish software success on an international stage which include scale and ability to sell globally. It also axes product development time from months and years to weeks."

He also stressed that today's Cloud Computing and SaaS applications went far beyond the original Customer Relationship Management (CRM) products. Saaspoint Cloud Computing applications include Mobile Field Scheduler (MFS) which offers customers on-demand scheduling via an interactive console that organises work assignment entries and integrates with Google Maps.

TimeTrack manages billable time and produces on-demand expense reports and timesheets. PropertyPoint is designed for the real estate industry, providing information about available properties, real estate management and customer interactions as well as managing sales and leases.

Mr Mulcahy added that developers had access to ready made cloud computing platforms. Saaspoint cloud computing products are built as a native application on salesforce.com's Force.com cloud computing platform and made available to a global market through salesforce.com's AppExchange.
